Rare Bar & Grill in New York City

Cool spot that you enter via a "hidden" side door, one of the best rooftops in midtown if only because it doesn't get quite as packed as other, more easily accessible spots. Great view, decent drink prices.

Great view, service, and food

Service is good, but I don't know what everyone is talking about in terms of the view. I thought the view was poor.

Good cocktails and food. Service is slow however the staff is attentive and really accommodating so it makes up for the speed. Will be back.

Fun vibe on the rooftop to start off a Saturday night out. Enjoyed our drinks and took some pictures for the great view. Took away a star because smoking is allowed and I was constantly holding my breath for the cigarette AND cigar smoke that was surrounding us.

Bit of a cluster with the spring/summer crowds. Cocktails are on the sweet side, so stick to beer and wine.

Other than expensive drinks the place is awesome. Great views of Manhatten. Must visit.

Felt like this was a makeshift rooftop. Really long line to get in. Staff was attentive with drinks and food though. It wasn't for me but you might like it.

Was very excited to show this rooftop to a group of out of town girlfriends 2 weeks ago, but unfortunately upon arrival we found out that the rooftop wasn't opening for another week (despite the website stating it was already open). However we made the best of it and ended up enjoying a lovely steak dinner at the restaurant downstairs.

the burger was super good and cooked to the perfect temperature. its a very relaxed scene, in between a normal restaurant and a sports bar. i highly suggest the chiptole aoli

Nice terrace, not to see the Chrysler Building

Rooftop entrance only has a single tiny elevator, and all private parties are instructed to "skip the line"... But they fully book out the rooftop with private parties, so it's meaningless! The wait was about 20 minutes in a sweltering hallway.

A pretty neat Rooftop bar, when we were there it was not crowded, the staff was friendly. The bar has nice views towards empire state building.

Great views, nice lounge area and good cocktails. Don't come for the food though.

The space is fantastic, the service is subpar and what you expect for this type of place. Get in early, or you may be denied access when it reaches capacity between 5-9p. Expect a young professionals crowd, average age 25-30. Finance bros and brahs are the standard.

Decent drinks , good atmosphere. The bouncers are rude though.

The view and location is why it gets 4 stars bc the male bartenders that I encountered are is super slow and have no people skills! The prices are outrageous compared to other bars in the area and they need more females behind the bar OMG!!!

Cool bar, high views and even higher prices. The drinks are solid and the bar gets packed, though from the roof top you can see the tops of the skyscrapers of Murray Hill.

Great view of midtown and chill atmosphere. Drinks are a little pricey and they only serve chips and guac, but the view and atmosphere make up for it.

Really great spot for drinks. Definitely would eat before coming because they have almost nothing, and it takes time to even get the chios and guac

I only had drinks here. They were fine. The view of the Empire State Building was the real draw, though.

We attended a wedding party at the Rare View and it was a great view. The drinks and food was outstanding.

Fantastic NYC View. It does have a rare view of the City. Great Low key place to go and enjoy ones company. They make Great Mocktails and the Guacamole is delish!!!
